OK, need to get a price for a bushel, and count(?) of 7"+ crabs.....simple...

Edit, since FP thinks I'll get no replies.....7"+(nothing under7") easy to understand...Rough count, like 8 dozen or 5dozen +/- 3 or 4...and last, price, such as $100 or $120....Just within $20 or so...(btw, "or so" is not a 3 digit number Grin)......

Replies you'll get, a bushel of 7"+ crabs, not likely. Grin

Your only chance would be to find a wholesale dealer that will go through bushels and bushels to pick out the jumbos, it will be very costly.

if you can get a bushel of 7''+ crabs for anywhere close to $120, I would be very very surprised.  And skeptical, very skeptical.

I just threw those numbers out there...I'm guessing a bushel of crabs that size would be about 4 doz, maybe 50?? Maybe not...Then, I was being kind of sarcastic with the price of $120, but like I said, within $20 or so?? This is not a trick question, riddle or math problem.....

A lot of people here know rough prices...Now, a bushel of 7" are considered what?? Jumbo?? Whatever, I'm sure someone knows a per doz price, then 4 or 5 doz X that price would be "close"....Thx

I'd estimate a dozen 7"+ crabs would be $65-85...from the boat.

Shoreline has them but you might have to take a loan out to buy a bushel of them.

X2.  My buddy who owns a retail business tried getting crabs from a supplier out of FL. $120 a DOZ WHOLESALE ... Were over 8" and came a dozen to a flat.when he got them there were 4 dead ones and the other couple just hangin on.. He pulled out 4 of his biggest crabs from his cooler and mixed with the FL jumbos and sold them for $100 just to get some money back Sad.  Needless to say he wont be buying anymore.. Realistically i would imagine you could find a bushel of  " 7"ers "...  But would run about 3-400 bucks and would be a fair share of 61/2" crabs..  Jmho

WOW!!!! Shocked Shocked Shocked Now we're gettin somewhere....Now, just how many/dozen would you say in a packed bushel...My "guess" is 5 doz, but that is just a guess, as I have NEVER caught that many large...That might be way to high?? Some of you thru the years must have had some great days, or just said only large today...Lets see thumbsup

laugh  laugh I remember this one time.... :laugh:I've been crabbing a long time. I worked on a comm boat culling crabs a few years ago. We caught lots of bushels. Never had enough 7 inch crabs to come close to a bushel. It's hard to do. Shore line seafood is the only place I can think of. They are a big outlet. Their crabs are trash tho.

You could send Mr Breeze a message. They only do high quality crabs. At least you won't have to worry about buying trash crabs.
