Brother in law and I met at the dock at 7am. The fog was heavy and the air was wet. We took our time heading to a spot 1 while doing a little back bay trolling with no takers. Once at spot 1 we started picking away at the tog (with green crab. Other toggers (four boats) showed at slack but only managed two shorts). After 15+ or so with none any bigger than 14in, we decided to hit spot #2.
Its harder to fish this area but as soon as it hit bottom the bite was there. We picked another 10 or so from there with two that i would've put money on being keepers but weren't 15. They were the fatest under 15in tog i've seen (and fatter than most 15/16/17inch fish i've seen). I thought i had one keeper on but it turned out to be a 14inch seabass (which went in the livewell). We ran out of crabs and decided to call it/left them biting as we had a family gathering to go to...

Good report & nice pics of that SB. Sounds like things were busy, even though the big boys haven't moved in there yet. I never seem to find a keeper SB in the back bays, but in the old days a few dozen little guys made a great meal...before the size limit thingy.

Keep me posted, I need to eat some tog.   Grin Grin Grin
