12/21/13               Crab Sports Project

A few weeks ago,  a friend of the williecrabs made a wisecrack pertaining to the fact the williecrab was a little to old to be playing sports now.   ( an old man playing in a flag football game is kinda pathetic)   He mentioned maybe the williecrab could use his old tennis racket to catch crabs.   Hmmmm,  this landlubber just gave me an idea.
So today on a very warm December day,  I finished up a project I started a few days ago.  I took out my old beloved Wilson Titanium oversized tennis racket,  took it apart and used crab trap wire to make a scooping net.  I used a wooden flag pole for a handle.  Now it will be very handy in the sport I can do,  and that's walking through the creek muck in a shallow creek and scaping up some crabs!  The nice handle will be handy if carried out in front in case of sinking too deep. (normally an oar is carried but this will do the trick)
First time ever making one of these,  and always wanted a wire net.
Since the weather is so nice,  and the crabs are all sleeping,  maybe I can dig out my old ball glove, hockey sticks and skates, even a bowling ball and figure out how to make crab weapons from them also.
williecrab, waitin for the March Perch run

Yeah I was hanging up some Christmas lights,  and was getting to hot!   Had to wait for it to cool down a bit.
