Dear Kodi & Jack,

Being an avid steamed crab eater and Baltimoron who has recently moved to Tampa, I am obviously looking hard for a local supplier. Even though the blue runs throughout the Gulf and Atlantic coast, the problem is that no one down here appreciates them the way a Chesapeake Bay'er does. All this said, I happen to know that the majority of the crabs I've eaten in Maryland for years don't come from the Bay. So folks, heal the Bay and then you'll have a leg (or claw) to stand on!

Hungry,
Paul

While I can't verify size wise ........ I would challenge anyone to compete with New Jersey Blue's. The Southern NJ crabs have cleaner and better water and conditions than the over fertilized and polluted "chessy", as a general statement! I have eaten great crabs from your bay and the Northern New Jersey waters are very suspicious ......... but .......... the "Southern New Jersey" crabs may not be better, but they are as good as any, anywhere else.

Sorry Jack1747 - ya just brought out the "NJ Pride" in me. If I got alittle defensive there, I apologize.

One thing for sure, "Blues are better that anything else on a hot summer day", (If ya got the brew to go with it).

Heh, heh, heh.  Probably everyone feels that "their" crabs are the best, and that's as it should be.  I finally got some to steam up yesterday on 3/2 and they were from New Orleans... man o man were they good.  First I've had in over a month.

I'm only guessing ----but ----- We don't have the amount of crabbin areas or crabbers, either commercial or recreational, that the other states have. What's to regulate to that extent?Huh

Other opinions?Huh?
