I'm looking for a place to take young kids crabbing  ( land based )
can anyone suggest a place to go

I wish I could help but I am in the same boat but for more Central Jersey. I got some great suggestions in a post I made I just need to go scout them out to see where exactly to go. I am sure someone will be on to help you.

Barneget public  dock would be good. Don't know how the numbers are at the bulkhead but you have plenty of room. It's not that far from you either.

I haven't been there in awhile but South Green St. off RT. 9 would be a good place to take the kids.

Head to Ocean City and go behind Yesterday's on the road that goes to the 34th st bridge.  You will get a little muddy but my kids never had any problems with me supervising the effort.  It's good for a few dozen at mid tide.  Have fun!
