Hello , I have done some basic research but i figured id ask for a public opinion. I currently crab in MD but I am looking to relocate so I have a couple questions:
How is the commercial crab industry in NC
What are good general areas to crab (not hot spots just maybe a town name or even if the tributaries are better than the bays and ocean?)
Would a 25ft Carolina Skiff be a good boat to run pots and trot line in those waters
How much is a permit for 50 pots and Unlimited line
What price per bushel are you averaging in the spring and summer
What are other fisheries that people fish when not crabbing for money

THANKS any info will help. Im not asking for your secrets or hot spots I just want some friendly crabbers opinions or suggestions. If you have any questions about MD crabbing Ill be glad to answer them

Holding it's own.

Coastal Inland

That's what I used my first year. Fine if you stay in one river, otherwise as Diesel stated it'll kill you.

Limited entry. You can put your name in the pool and wait, or buy one on the market. About $1-2k on the market. My renewal was $360, SCFL and 2 boats.

Depends.

Not much left after the games being played with gill nets.
