2015 Biggest Blue Crab Contest (w/changes from previous years)

Rich aka Tattoo has asked me to help him organize the Biggest Blue Crab Contest again this year.     Note the change in dates from April 1st to May 1st this year.

The fee this year has not changed:   $5.00 per person.

What has changed are the dates (beginning May 1st instead of April 1st) and that we will have two divisions, one for recs and one for comms.    There will be a first, 2nd and 3rd place price for recs, and a first place prize for comms.    The amount of the awards depends on how many people enter.  

If there are enough entrants to have excess money to cover Rich's expenses for the awards, additional moneys will then be distributed to the winners in a top prize down manner.    Alternatively, if Rich isn't up to doing awards, the total pot will be split among the winners as it was this year.

The rules of the contest remain unchanged from previous years.   To refresh everyone's memory, they are listed below.

#1 All entries must be postmarked by May 1st.  
#2 Contest starts May 1st and ends DEC 1st  
#3 MUST be alive and freshly caught.   No exceptions.
#4  Must be a MALE Blue crab.
#5  Must summit a CLEAR picture with a ruler to verify the size in this subforum.
#6 In case of a TIE the earliest or first picture summited will be the winner.    


Send entry fees to:   Ron Meischker, 5 Chestnut St., Somers Point, NJ 08244.   Make sure to include your real name, your screen name, address and phone # with your entry.    Also note if you are a comm or a rec.   Once your fee is received you will receive Board Message from my noting it's receipt.     If you wish to pay by Paypal, boardmail me and I will go over the procedure.

     This is Tony(Tiki Tony) and I would like to enter the 2015 biggest blue crab contest.  Being a member since only November I am looking foward to becoming more involved with everyone.  You guys are a great group of people and I had a really good time meeting alot of the members at the event last week.  Thank you again for all the time and work you put into it.  Looking forward to getting involved more and hanging with people who share the same interest and passions that I have when it comes to being out on the bays.  If it isn't a problem to pay by paypal for the contest that would be good for me.  Just let me know what to do.  Thanks Tony

LOL,  Ok,  it seems like 2 or 3 have been in the running, so assuming those 2 or 3 get in again, there won't be much of a contest for the comms.  If you don't want comms in the contest, then just say so.  Not much point in having a commercial category for a handful of people.  I'm out

I hope that we get enough comms to sign up to ensure we can cover the cost of a first prize crab mount for the winner.
