I have 2 big box style crab traps in Ft Lauderdale, on the new river, at my condo.  I have been baiting them all week with chicken necks, and letting the crabs pile up.  had about 9 in one trap, and 5 in the other.  Let the females and small ones go.  kept one 6.5 inch female, she was just too big to throw back.

I seem to catch about 2 crabs per pot, per day.  maybe less.  Not that great, but steady.

Thats because everyone here is a city slicker, and there are zero rednecks down here.  No body knows that these crabs exist down here, and if they do, they say, "you can eat those?!"   Yeap!  there all mine, zero competition, nice change from fighting for a trot line spot on the Chesapeake bay.

Thanks for the report and great to hear you have no competition in your area!

There is too much competition in my area and there are about 20 other traps off the docks where I keep my boat.
I also average one or two crabs a day from two traps.
