Gene, this photo has been dissected several times on the forum, with varying opinions.

As a Photoshop user, I can't see any indication that it's 'shopped. Hey, if it's on the internet, it must be true, right?  Grin

Bottom line for me .... that's one real big crab.

Photoshopped. Been goin around since last year. It would be like a 14" crab. Lol

Even though everyone in the 80's caught 11" crabs on a regular basis before cell cameras or they disnt take pics because the 11-12" crabs were commonplace... Its still fake. Lol

I'm a professional photographer and long time Photoshop user.  I've already commented on this photo somewhere else.  People will hold a fish closer to the camera lens so that it gives the appearance of being large.  It's an old fisherman's trick and not Photoshop.  Notice the guy's thumbs.  They appear to be very large also (for the same reason.)  When using this trick, people will usually hide their fingers behind the fish so that they don't look like big sausages.

One more thing.  Notice how the guy's arms are is bent at the elbow at 90 degrees in order to extend the subject even closer to the camera.

I've seen that too.  Makes everything look way bigger shoving it into the camera lens while you stand behind it.

Carlosh is  100%  correct here.  Crab is 7"  plus or minus 1/4"

Photo appears to be real. As others have mentioned its how the photo was posed that gives the impression that the crab is larger than life. Going with that assumption if you judge the width of the gloved thumbs I would estimate the crab is probably in the 8-8.5 inch range.  Nice crab by anyones standards, not sure how someone can state that it would be a 14 inch crab if it was real.
