Good Morning All,

Quick question regarding personal watercraft in NJ...  My brother is a PA resident and has a canoe that is currently registered in PA.  The canoe is about 8-10 feet long and does not have a motor - paddles only.  If he uses it in the back bays of NJ, does he need to have some sort of NJ registration tag or is the PA registration alone OK?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

I'm no expert but I believe that as long as the boat is registered and up to date you are good. I also believe you need to register with the NJ fish and game. No license required but online reg. If you search the site I know this topic has surfaced a few times.

You do not need special NJ registrations to use a manually powered canoe.
