.....most temps sites are gauging surface temps, and you have to remember that the water below is still a bit cooler.

Even if the bottom temp is cooler, 60 is pretty warm.  Could we see some action this weekend?

I thought you said the temp was 55-60, but you were referring to when they bite.

.....if your talking of the chesapeake bay in Maryland in accordance with the april 1st opener, I'd seriously doubt you'll have any luck catching crabs. Keep an eye on the potters to the south. When they start to catch crabs, then there moving....if not, your not going to do well either. Just spoke to a potter on the Pax yesterday and said it's going to be a little while before they go at it full bore. Good Luck though.

chris most of the time here in south jersey we need ocean temp to read at least 50 deg just to get them to start pottin but the,ll still be movin slow then go on 2&3 day sets now  when my depth finder reads 57 deg i can go to 1 day sets but these cold nites are holdin us back
