Had 25 traps and my 2  600ft. trotline set by 6:15 .Crabbed til 10.45 ,ended up with a bushel of mostly #1s. 53 to be exact .Most of my big crab came from the traps.Something kept taking the bait right out of my traps and it wasn't the crabs. It got to the point I was out of bait so I pulled the one trotline that had not been producing so that I could rebait the traps they were hot.biggest crab was 8 1/4  .Steamed with corn and redskin potatoes enjoyed with in-laws lol.

Maybe some catfish kept stealing your baits from the traps.

That table was a feast fit for kings and queens. Made me hungry just looking at it.  Wink

nice job.  more than likely turtles stealing your bait.

Maybe that too. I caught an oyster toad in Choptank a couple years back that totally filled my trap. My initial thought was that it was a turtle.

The Father in law owes you a Worlds greatest Son in law tee shirt.

That photo has been nominated in the best steamed crabs on table category.

I used to haul 50 foxy mate short crab traps on a 16ft open skiff, just didn't have much room till all gear set, coming in was a challege also since we had added 3 bu + of crabs. That was over 10 years ago and i keep getting bigger boats ,up to a 24 ft x 9 ft wide now and it's the last one i'll buy ,i finally realized there is never enough room on a crab boat.
