Home from a VERY long day crabbing. Hit the water at 5:30am and had traps and line in the water by 6:30am It was a slow slow grind all day. never had any runs without catching anything but way too many 2 or 3 crab runs. Best run of the day 8 crabs. After 9 hours on the water we ended up with just shy of a bushel of really nice heavy crabs. Biggest was 8.25 inches. Total crab count = 68. Angry wife count for being gone so long=1. Lots of jelly fish and gulls diving on baitfish. Very enjoyable day over all. Perfect weather and delicious crabs

Great job. nine hours. That wasn't too bad of a day. Angry wife? Really? My wife would be angry if I went crabbing and came home with none. She's used to my marathon crabbing or fishing escapades. I think that's why my son doesn't like to go with me anymore. I stay out too long.

She's ok now. She was just mad because I left at 3am and didnt get home until 6:40pm, 15.5 hours, lol. She is disabled and doesn't like being home alone that long by herself. Once she ate some of those sweet crabs she was just fine with it.....LOL

Nice report. And a good catch of crabs too.
My wife never gets mad when I come late from fishing or crabbing. She gets "disappointed" if I don't come home with some fresh caught crabs or fish.
Thanks for sharing your report and photos.

First off, hats off to you for being a good soul to your love. All the years I've crabbed the Wye I never have actually ventured out in to the Eastern bay. I see Crabbywaters oftens there. Did you stay to the north of the Eastern closer to the Narrows? Or are you further south? Seems a decent ride no matter where you launch. Congrats on your catch with the new location. I too am having some fun expanding to new areas this year. I feel more cultured

I like to get the Wye River crabs before they enter the Wye River . For fokes with smaller boats. Be careful out there. She can get pretty rough.

I'm good. It's been a great year so year so far, especially compared to last season. The crabs have been BIG with tons of doublers. I'm out there most Tuesdays. Take it easy!

Outstanding catch....glad you stuck with it and came home with some really nice crabs!
The quality in that area lately has been off the hook....this fall should be phenomenal.
Good luck everyone!

great catch and pics. for such a long period of time - do you ice the crabs on the boat? how do you keep them "snappy"....lol. I'd get a hernia dunking that blue bushel basket into the water constantly...
