New to crabbing the Shrewsbury with hand lines.  Been out a few times all over the river without a good showing. Been all arround by raccoon island. Been by myrtle avenue bridge and west of there. I see better results on board with traps but like hand lining. Any advice on some general spots and depth to try would be appreciated.  I'm sure there are plenty a crabs just waiting to be caught somewhere???

Problem is few will burn spots here.  But almost all bigger catches are jugging. Not anchored.

I would imagine trying to jug with a hand line would take phenomenal skill to pull off.  Not impossible, but very hard.

You haven't tried the main river?

Not the main river yet. Mostly near shore. Also haven't tried the north side shore either. Going again today. Will try to find them again today.
