CRABS in Melbourne?

Finally moved into Melbourne. I set 9 pots in the Eau Gallie River in VERY shallow water. Water temp is 82 degrees and salt is 14 ppm. I'll let ya know how it works out on Sunday. BTW, water clarity is terrible and actually looks a little muddy.

I thought FL had a 5-pot limit. That's why I ruled it out as a retirement option.

it's 5 pots per person....if your mothers, fathers, aunts and uncles, friends, and all your illegitimate children have 5 pots each and have their names on them, all you need is written permission from them on you to tend their pots....but the limit is still the same for the one tending the pots....

Crew, if you and your buddy are both
onboard and licensed fisherman
, you can have ten traps.
Boat is allowed to have ten gallons of whole crabs, which works out to about 1 and 1/4 bushels.
Anyone crabbing in Florida must have a license.
Trotlines are unlimited for rec crabbers.
Come on down.

So if my wife and I are licensed, and we bring two licensed kids with us, are we allowed to tend 20 pots? I'm not being a smart a**, I'm genuinely interested.
And how do they regulate traps? Or is there no distinction between pots and traps?

Wait. I just re-read that. Unlimited trotlines? I'm on my way.
