My brother CraigFos and I went and ran the nets for a couple of hours. The nets were full but lots of little ones. We ended keeping about 8lbs after culling.

The nets are called PUDDLE NETS because you usually set them in shallow puddles (lets keep this simple) or shallow ditches.  They are 16 x 16 inches with 3/8 inch mesh.  You tie a piece of bait in the middle and the crawfish crawl onto the middle of the net to eat the bait.  Let them sit and lift them up using a stick.  Set time depends on how the crawfish are biting.

Hey guys its much easier out of a boat and you can catch a whole lot more. laugh

We just have to drive a too far to get to a place where we could run them from a boat.  This spot is definitely a ditch running along the road near some rice fields.  None of our catch would have survived your 3/4 culling. 

The crawfish we kept were about half the size of what I ate at our local crawfish restaurant on Friday, but they tasted much better because we caught them!
