Hello everyone, and thanks for reading this post.  I truly am confused as to whether or not I need a license to crab for recreational purposes.  I truly can not find a definite answer and I really wanted to get the input of the experts on here.  Also, are the regulations different for clamming?  Thanks to all who respond.  I appreciate the advice.

Crabbing:
1 bushel / day with recreational crabbing license. 2 dozens / day without license.

Clamming:
No license required. 250 / day

You do not need a license to crab with handlines or traps in NJ.
