How to Can Crab Meat
«

I have to admit, I have learned a tremendous amount from this page. I thought I would try to contribute back with something I have knowledge about. I have seen the question asked "Can you Can Crab Meat"? The answer is yes, but it has to be done with a pressure canner, which is different than a pressure cooker. I decided to sacrifice some of my catch to to do a video tutorial of how the process is done. I hope this helps anybody who has that question. Or if you are in a situation like me, where you have bare minimum freezer space.
The video is a little lengthy, but it will show you the entire process. Hope you enjoy and learn something.

After letting them cool and settle over night. They actually look pretty good. I will open one up later and see how the texture of the meat actually came out and report back here.

Interesting! Can't wait to see you open one up! So, how long a shelf life do you think they have after canning?

if stored properly, Canned items will have a shelf life of 5 years easily.
