Hello fellow crabbers....Does anyone know if you can still launch at Chris Marine in Red Bank. I know Sandy shut 'em down but a previous post a few weeks ago said the sate took over and they launched there. Just wanted an update if anyone has been there recently and what time can you launch or what time is someone there to take your money or can you pay when you return?  I was through the town a few weeks ago and didn't see a single trailer in the parking lot. The docks were like a ghost town too, not a single boat there. I think you can launch at RB Marina if Chris is closed? I know to watch the tide as the water level drops drastically at low tide trying to come in.
Thanks in advance for the help all.

Bob,
First off, this post will be moved shortly to crabbing resources.

I was wondering the same. Why not try calling Chris's Deli and see if they have any info. I dont believe you can launch at RBM but that may be worth a try calling. The next closest ramp is the Rumson Borough Municipal Ramp, which is a nice ramp. They offer daily, or annual rates. You would have to call for rates and times.

I've launched my 16ft Jon boat there without any issue.  I've tried to avoid low tide as per suggestions here but they put out some new channel markers taking you from the ramp to the first bridge and I haven't felt worried about water depth at all.  The $20 launch fee is more worrisome than the depth in my opinion.  Happy crabbing.

There's no daily rate at Rumson ramp. Only seasonal- $100.

There is also a so so ramp in Fairhaven.  It was seasonal also.

There's some freebie ramps in the Shrewsbury, but at the extreme west end- Oceanport.  A L O N G ride back to the Navesink.   Also a seasonal ramp in Monmouth Beach.

If you are thinking about trying something a bit further north, you can give this guy a shot. looks like a nice ramp and nice water if you head upstream. Check out their website.

Crabtrap. Thanks for the info. Do you happen to know their operating hours? I was wondering if one can launch early and pay for the ramp upon return as I always have when the original owner still had it. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I plan on taking the old starcraft out this coming Sunday.
