Finally had a day when I could go back and try Oak Hill again.

Fished and crabbed off the dock from about 10am until 2pm.  3 crabs, that's it.   I caught a bunch of trash fish and 2 nice whiting.  Mr. Casting Net was back again but he left after he bagged a gorgeous 22" redfish.

I was packing up the car and I still had chicken in my crab nets so I decided to throw a few off the west side of the road by the infamous culvert while I called and checked in at home.

That's when I found the crabs!  I looked down and I could see them on my bait, yanked my 2 nets and instantly had 4 more crabs for my cooler.  Decent sized jimmies.  Threw them back and 15 minutes later I drove away with 18 crabs in my cooler.  I am not counting the small ones and the females (2) that I threw back.  This all happened on the incoming tide.

I plan to go back as soon as I have an afternoon to myself.

This is the spot.  Notice it's right on the side of the road!   No hanging out and picnicking here like we do on the dock.

Now that you found a better spot, you don't have to worry about Mr. Casting Net! Nice catch! thumbsup
