Been crabbing rec for 30 years and commercially for 8
Went over to lake pontchartrain in New Orleans to help my nephew get started on his own crabbing operation
Crabs were running good last week
Last pull of the day and we had a true monster
Measured 12.5 inches from shell tip to tip
With claws well over 24 inches
Haven't seen one close to this size before

I don't even a take a camera or phone with me.  The mental memories are just fine.

I also have a photographic memory so if anyone ever asks about all the 12's I've caught I'll just draw them a picture.

I caught a 15" crab but I cooked it and ate it before I remembered I should have taken a photo of it.  I did get an x-ray of my lower intestines if you want a copy just bmail me.

Ahhh, come on guys, give this guy a chance. He is new to the forum and he is excited to share his crabbing experiences with us. I am sure as a new member to this forum he will not lead us astray. So give him a chance to prove that he caught this crab. I am sure catbird and marlinmagic will do the same. Just my 2 cents.

I was being serious and not judging him at all.  I am glad to help post his pic(s)

Hey Crabbyd, I know you were serious about your willingness to help, which is great and I seriously hope he would take your offer and the other offers to help post his picture. I know we would all love to see this crab.

My post was suppose to come across more on a funny side because we all know that crabs that big are rare to see, but I guess it did not come across that way. My Bad.  laugh laugh laugh I actually welcomed him to the site the other day and was glad to see he took the time to post his crabbing trip and hopefully he will continue to do so in the future.

Anyway, thanks for your response.
