I went this evening for about 30 min. I could not stop sweating so I got down before I left to much scent everywhere.  Pulled the SD card and was not happy I had to work this morning.  First pic was from this morning. Second is from yesterday moring.

I will be out there tomorrow morning.  Hope one of the 3 shooters shows up or another shooter I do not have pics of.

I was out until noon sweating my azz off.  All I saw was a fawn that kept coming in all morning.  I was out on Monday morning on a crop damage permit.  busted a doe (120 lbs) about 6:45 and 30 mins later 2 bucks came in and hung out for 20 mins.  The permit is for 30 does or antlerless.  The bucks have been coming in every evening and morning since I put the cam up on Sunday evening.  Today, they were in there at 5:05 and must have heard me open the gate to the woods.  Gone by 5:10 when I got to the stand.

They are both big body deer. Both 4 or 5 year Olds. Looks like the one might be a p&y. The other guy I Hunt with loves non typical but I would rather have the 8 pointer with long tines.

Great looking deer. Good luck. I know you will keep us updated. Don't know when I'll get out.

I went hunting this morning and got into the woods at 530am. Saw my first doe and fawns at 7am. Then about 20 min later I saw a fawn by itself.  That is all I saw until 1020am. It was getting hot and my legs where starting to sweat and since I did not see much action I decided to call it a day. It was to hot to get out this evening. Might try and get out later this week.

Yeah, it's been a little too hot for me to be out there. I'm gonna wait for it to cool down just a little more.

I got a reasonable spike (spikes were 12" long and still in velvet and weighed in at 120lbs) and my wife got as nice 4pt in velvet (140 lbs) on Saturday.  Both down by 7:10.

We are meat hunters.  Trophy's are nice but cost you money.  ;)

Chris, even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.  LOL

I usually hunt for meat as well. But the beginning of the season and rut its all about the rack. I was hoping to get a deer down for my camping trip this weekend but not sure if it will happen. I went hunting again this morning and had a group of does come towards me 60 yards away. Then another group was infront of them that blew at something. They took off and so did the other group. Not sure what spooked the one group. Then a doe and her fawn came about 30 yards and walked past me. I could have shot them Saturday but not what i was looking for. I put out corn late last night since i did not know i was off until 7:20pm. But it seemed like the deer did not know the corn was there. Soon the deer will be where the white oaks are dropping. They disappear from my corn pile in about 2 weeks. Hopefully i will get a deer down before they disappear.

Don't know if I'll be able to hunt at all this year.  I'm having shoulder surgery on 10/6.
Might be able to bow hunt in January if I'm lucky.
