I'm actively searching for a small boat to fish/crab with around south Louisiana.  Where are some good places to catch crabs in a small boat?  I dont think ill be Lake Pontchartrain worthy, looking for about a 16ft aluminum flat bottom or skiff. I'm in Gonzales, LA by the way.

You can crab Lake Pontchartrain just have to play the wind.  I was out there yesterday in my crawfish boat.  Didn't catch a crab but that won't stop me for tomorrow or Sunday.

Are you able to trot line Pontchartrain in your crawfish skiff?

Looks like a 16' aluminum crawfish boat?  Running trot lines might be a little hard with the steering set up that way.  But maybe not.  If you need any help making trot lines or getting the boat set up let me know I can help.

Yes sir, 17ft aluminum skiff made by Charles Leonard.  I would love some help making trotlines, and also some advice on getting the boat set up.  Its an open hull with no seats.  Thanks for offering to help me out.  What kind of supplies should I start collecting as far as rope, chains, etc?
