I think its a good thing.  We have the weather that we can fish crabs 365 days a year.  There are guys with 1200 - 1500 traps hammering the crabs year round, you have to give your resources a rest or there won't be any in the future.   25 - 30 years ago very few people fished crabs in the winter, and the crabs had a chance to rest. 
Of course some those same fishermen act like it happened all of a sudden and the sky is falling.  But this was announced a year ago so it no surprise.

The only restriction has been minimum of 5", and can't run traps at night.  Other than that no limits or season.
