Found this on a website about mud crabs........Fishing tips - Crab traps or pots baited with meat or fish are used to catch mud crabs.....sounds similiar to our crabbing

That crab probably would be a six pack....but then again I drink fast.

I wonder if those things could survive in the bay area?

Then again if you want a really, really big crab get yerselves down to the Southern Hemisphere around Australia way and pick up one or two of the Pseudocarcinus gigas...or Tasmanian Giant Crab.  It can get up to 16 inches across the shell and weigh as much as 33 pounds!!

At 16 feet it's gotta be a King Crab and that's gotta be across the legs.  They are commenly 12' across and 16 wouldn't be a stretch.  

If beyond that it's back to the old movie "Attack of the Killer Crabs".

    Sry guys i was away for awhile.  it was from leg tip to leg tip.  i think it was some sort of king crab... and it wasn't a tale, they had these sientists go out and look at it!!
