John:
I too make all of my own lures and Buck Tail Lures. A few years back after looking for several years for a Bug Eye mold, that I could not find  I bought a Blank mold from Do- It and with my Dremal Tool and two weeks I came up with a near perfect mold which only pours one at a time lure. I have caught big flounder on the Atlantic Ocean with this lure that lays flat on the bottom with the hook standing up just waiting for that bite when jigged off of the bottom.

Now the answer to your question: If you happen to have an egg sinker mold pour as many 1 ounce sinkers as you are going to crab with, next you will need some 1/16" 30" long stainless steel heli arc welding wire. String the egg sinker on one of the ends and then with vise grips and a good pair of pliers bend the wire to form the bait holder with a hook on the one end to close the bait holder with your chicken neck baited through the bones close the wire like you were closing a safety pin. Tie your line to the bait holder anywhere you have the room and drop it to the bottom and wait for the crab to grab your bait and swim away with it. Although I have never made these for myself I know that this will work because I make the clips to bait my chicken necks on my crabbing equipment. I will send you a picture of the system that I use so you will have a better idea of how to make yours.  ASK ME ANY QUESTION IF I KNOW THE ANSWER, SO WILL YOU !  I cut 9" of wire for my clips but you can make yours any size that will work for you.

John:

I made this one in three minutes Flat but your egg sinker don't have to as big 1-3/4 ounces, 1 ounce is good enough.
I hope this will help you?
