Ok I do believe I have the correct year this time. Set out 12 pots Friday evening and hauled them back in yesterday in the rain. Pots were checked 3 times and re baited in 3-5 foot of water. Total was 161 crabs caught with 54 keepers. Caught 5 stone crabs- all undersized or missing claws.

Hi Michael- I cannot speak for Swansboro other than its a gorgeous spot- White Oak river has lots of crabs and areas to crab. Sneads Ferry is awesome and has plenty of water but also "LOTS " of commercial crabbers in that area. I don't think you could go wrong with either choice.

I noticed above Swansboro in the White Oak river there's a  large area where they harvest oysters mechanically.  Their website says its a prohibited area.  Is it prohibited all the time or just during oyster season?  Might want to look into that, help with decision making.
