What kind of reports have you heard?

Everyone I've talked to around here (including commericals and buyers) say there isn't much happening yet.  Undecided

ChrisS, I don't rely on the internet for all my crabbing reports. I live within 2miles of the Tred and I have several neighbors that catch and sell crabs. I know some Comm.. guys were catching crabs the first week or two of April, but those crabs are gone. Those were crabs that wintered over in the rivers. No one around here has caught any crabs to speak of since mid-April. You stated that "Tred Avon is given them up". I was simply asking how you would know this to be true. Since you live on the western shore and do not usually crab this area yourself on a regular basis. If this is just hear say, then maybe you should post it as such, instead of implying that it was a fact.  Cool

...Islander, You can take my word as hear say or fact, as I don't really care to divuldge how I get my information....or you can get out there and try it for yourself.....I know if I lived that close to the Tred, I'd be there. Smiley

I'll agree with that, the lil Choptank would be a better choice right now.

I've heard reports that crabs are being caught down there.  Cool

Just got back form several days of crabbing at Slaughter Creek did not have computer access so here,s how I did Grin. Thurs 5/4 got to bridge at 4:30pm after Rockfishing soon ran into "CrabKraver"who said he was a member of this forum he had been ther since early am and he said he had 5dz in his cooler ! I looked and he DID some 6" to 7" most smaller asked him to please post report on his catch Huh Huh said he learned about the spots from my reports last year singer I wanted more forum members whanting to get out this weekend more options. I got 14 keepers with 3 to1 throwbacks. Sat 5/6 got to bridge at 4:30 got checked by 2 DNR guys just looked at lic did not even check crabs ended up with 12 keepers 4 over 6.5" they were doublers seen several boats picking away with both traps and trotlines one boat said he got 3/4 of a Bu. as they were leaving. a buddy of mine crabbed yesterday in the tred avon, and caught over half a bushel with 14 topless traps.....he said he wasted the first hour or so finding them and he could have probably had a bushel. you might have to move around a little to find them
