I went crabbing for the first time this year on Friday and Saturday.  Friday night I got there late high tide was already in and only caught 5 in about 2 hours of fishing.  There was another guy that I spoke to that had a 20qt cooler full in about 4 hrs of fishing.

I went back on Saturday and fished an hour before low tide then into high tide. I caught 20 keepers. Mostly small to mid-size crabs.   What is crazy is that these 2 guys show up 2 hours after me with 5 traps and start fishing.  They are pulling 3-5 crabs every time. my traps were right next to theirs and I am not catching anything!   Huh  Jokingly I asked them where they bought their chicken since the crabs liked it so much.  They easily pulled 36+ crabs in an hour.

I was happy to see that everyone there was throwing back sook females!

At least you caught some crabs for your efforts. Thanks for sharing your report.

Thanks for the report and I probably saw you there!
This past weekend was slow due to the tide and there were not as many crabbers as last weekend.
