Interesting news article. I'm doing fine catching what I need or want. And why now with restrictions?

 Here's another brief article

What i say is everyone was given this info when the winter dredge survey came out in May. All anyone talked about was the increase in the mature female numbers instead of the decline in juvis and overall population. Maybe Brenda Davis needed to go if this is the result of her managment i really don't know but whats going on is whats been going on for a long time. Maybe it's the carrying capacity of the bay while it's in such poor condition.

Well that didn't take long to decide, LOL.

I'm satisfied that these steps were taken, but I don't know what to expect for next year with these steps. More females then this year?
But it makes sense to lessen the female crab quota in the last part of the season, that's when the females head to the ocean to spawn.
Didn't need Davis on board after all, the folks in charge still make the final decisions. Davis was just the voice to let folks know what decisions were made. . Wonder how belton and Hogan  feels about it?  Those select group of waterman pushing for changes, well they didn't succeed after all. I'm glad.

Found this article from last year. It mentions the extension of the season and females. What a difference a year makes, SMH.
