Crabbing with My Little Pony?  Huh Huh Yup, you read it right. I figured since I don’t have any of those magical mystical “Unicorn” traps to crab with, (sorry, just poking some fun at some other posts on this site, so please just enjoy the humor if you have a sense of humor)  Grin Grin, I thought I would try my luck with taking a magical mystical creature, “My Little Pony”, crabbing today.

Why you ask? Well, sometimes crabbing can become too serious for many of us so I wanted to have some fun today. Plus, a manager at my work just moved from Utah to Del and she brought her My Little Pony to work one day and some of her co-workers stole it from her. They take it on trips and leave pictures on her desk of where the Pony has been, so this Pony went crabbing with us today.

I was hoping that the Pony’s magical and mystical powers would bring good luck, but the wind, tide, waves and current just sucked the life out us today.

We ended up with 8 keepers, most 5 ¼ to 5 ½, but two crabs were at 6 ½ inches. We used 20 topless traps, 10 traps with clams, 10 with bunker & chicken necks. Bunker and CN’s caught the biggest crabs and no difference in the quantity caught between the clams vs Bunker / CN’s.

Although we did not catch many crabs, we had a blast taking pictures of My Little Pony crabbing. She helped drive the boat, hung out with the crabs, caught a sun tan and let the wind blow through her shiny hair. She told us many stories about all of the other places she has been since moving here from Utah and that this was one of her best trips so far. She had never tasted crab before, but after showing her how to crack open a crab and eat it, she said she now prefers eating crab and drinking a cold beer over eating hay and grass. I am hoping I can bring her to the Wye Party and show her how us crabbers really like to party but not sure where she will be at the time. Hope you all enjoyed our crabbing trip today and better luck to all of you crabbers on your next trip.

Pony helping to drive the boat. Notice how she drives like most female ponies, looking behind her instead of the road ahead.  Shocked Shocked Grin Grin laugh laugh laugh

Although the catching of crabs wasn't the best of days, at least everyone had a great time and that beats sitting at home.

Thanks for sharing your report and photos.
