The summer may be officially over but crabbing sure isn't. Left dock at 06:11 this morning. After a rather rough ride with rollers and white caps we arrived at the crabbing grounds. Trot line went in the water and as the last weight sank in the mud, the wind picked up real good. It was a fight but pulled 49 jimmies in 2-1/2 hours. Real nice & heavy too. Several 6-1/4" to 6-5/8". Also 2 soft shells, 1 coming in at 6-1/4". Then played [Sam Hill] getting the line up with 2' white caps. Then the teeth rattling ride home. Green water across the bow. But we won the fight - got the crabs & got home safe!

Nice pics, but where are the pics in the white caps?  laugh laugh laugh laugh Been there couple times myself and ain't no time for pics, but makes for some good memories. Nice haul of crabs in some no so decent weather, but still better to be on the water then at home.

Nothing wrong with a little salt water spray on you, LOL. Adds to the memory of the trip. Thanks for sharing your trip and bringing back memories to those who have had weather days like that.

WTG Rick: Nice pictures of your crabbing adventure and the rouge wave, looks like it was from " THE PERFECT STORM "

I asked you before about where are you located in Oak Forest camp grounds? I was there for 13 years and got tired of fixing my camper due to the owner NOT TAKING CARE OF THE TREES ! When you drive in the lane and make the right I was the 4th or 5th camper on the left. I had a lot of friends on that campground, my big question is HOW DID I MISS YOU ?? I live in Willow Street Pa.

Anybody see the surfer in that wave pick. Is that a crab in his hand?  LOL

Great report with pics. Good looking crabs before and after cooking.
