Back at Topsail again before Maria decides what she may do. Couldn't go last weekend because I got the sinus mess so I am a week late. Only set out 10 pots this time as I didn't have many crabs to catch. I set in my same places as all year in 3-5 foot of water. Caught 110 crabs with a surprising 62 keepers with 2/3 being big jimmies. I check my pots every 12-13 hours and have found out that the daylight hours stink compared to overnight- at least this year its been that way. I have not noticed the decline the past several years but this year its been spot on. I catch 40 overnight and 12-15 in the daylight. I keep records and that is why I always have a crab count. I know most don't bother but I have always done that with fish and most any other thing. Shooting doves etc- I know how many I shot and the number of shots I took. Anyways- Good crabbing folks !
