Headed out 0630 in hopes of bagging a few Rock and some big fat blue crab. Trolled the banks for 1 1/2 hours before setting 30 traps baited w/CN. A few short Rock and none in the cooler so we checked the traps. 1st trap had a dual, exciting start soon became evident we wern't on the meat as the entire trap line was dead, bait untouched until the last trap we scored the 3rd crab. With 3 nice Jimmies in the basket we figured let um' soak. Fished in different areas for another hour or so and worked our way back to the traps, No keeper Rock. 1st trap had a crab again, the next 29 empty. Picked up 10 at a time and moved them around looking for the meat only catching 2-3 here and there we made the decision to move to another area out toward the bay. Nothing on fire out that way either. Ended the day @ 1500 with 23 nice fat jimmies 6-7 1/2" and no Rock to keep but it was a beautiful day, as the saying goes the worst day on the water is better than the best day at work. Depending on the weather I might make one more trip this year.

Glad you at least caught some.  A meal of 23 nice crabs is good.

WTG  If you don't go you can't catch ! I am glad that you got
some crabs to eat. I always found that the Wye Crabs were
the best for flavor.

Thank you for the report and the nice picture maybe the next
time out you will get that ROCKFISH  I hope so.

I really would like to get another trip in. I got to thinking last evening that maybe the crab moved up the creeks off the river due to little to no rain the past few weeks and the salinity of the water. If i'd thought about it yesterday I would have set a few traps up the creek to test my theory.
