Wow, very impressive. 50 pots by hand, all by herself and still enjoying a cold beer with her crabs at the end of the day. I too would love to meet her.

My mom is 77 and loves crabbing she uses 30 ring traps and goes 1-2 times a week. I try and take her out in my boat at least once a season. She pulls those traps in so fast a crab does not stand a chance, and she still gets really excited about it.

MCC, Giod bless your mom, love hearing stories like that. Hope we can be able to still crab in our later years.

Guess I better start moving a little faster then. Maybe vitamins will help? Or was it the beer the lady in the video was drinking?

Not me. I hope every female gets caught and the crab population disappears. Maybe then you will stop posting!

Per the video poster on youtube: "Charles Bercher Calvert bay near point lookout. It's a tributary of the Chesapeake. "

Pretty sure if that happens, this forum is done. Not to mention folks looking for a new source of income. Sure will miss crabbing.

I'm 66 so need to hang in at least 15 more years. I may need to get a new outboard for the skiff, maybe not.

By the time I turn 81 I get the impression that the only crabbing that I'll be doing is as the bait.

My ashes will have been long spread over the Wye River by then. I will be down there trying to guide the crabs towards existing trot lines for my fellow crabbers.
