Went to my usual spot. Thought I would give it a shot in the evening. With the cold nights thought the warm sun would make them more active in the evening. I get there and 3 people already there. No big deal I just run my traps from the shore anyway. Went up to talk to some of them. One lady I have crabbed with before. She was there since 10am and had about 2 dozen. I got there at 1:30. The other group I would have guessed had about the same. I put out my traps and started off really good. I caught 8 keepers the first run with like 2 to 4 small crabs in almost every trap. Next run i had 9 keepers. Then it went down hill. 2, 5, 3 and 3. I made a few more runs but that is what I remember. I crabbed until 5:30 with about 4 dozen crabs. This spot usually produces a lot of light crabs but most where heavy. Only 3 or 4 light crabs out of the batch. Not sure if the bigger crabs went out to deeper water. Most crabs where just legal to about 6 inches. Sorry no picks today.

I'd say that was a decent half of a day there. 4 dozen of that size would be fine with me.

Way to go catching those crabs. Big crabs are nice to catch, but the smaller ones taste just the same.

Nice report and great effort for this time of year. Love the logic for starting time. Thanks for sharing.
