Is there a market for snapping turtles?

I catch 1 or 2 large snapping turtles most of the time when I go crabbing. I was thinking of getting a permit to catch and sell them. I know someone already posted they would like to buy snapping turtles. But is there a market for them? I don't plan on going out to try and catch them commercial. Just sell the by catch and to pay for my gas.

I know people down my way Salisbury md area be wanting them all the time , the gentleman that did sell them had stopped do to his age. This year I m trying to get all I can. A guy told me he sells for $1.50 to 2.00 a pound, which was the same price in my area when found.

you do have to have a comm. lic. and i think the fishery is restricted but i don't know what the restric. are.
