Not many people posting from up here in Jacksonville recently. I had a great year in 2017. My creeks way up inland were producing crabs, but with a lot of size variation and mostly males. Still worth it for the most part. It was difficult to find places where the commercial crabbers didn't already have their pots set up. I don't have a boat so I found most of these using Google maps, looking for remote creeks with car access. Even small creeks can be good producers. My best spots were the inlets. In early June the females start migrating in on the incoming tide and I was able to fill my cooler with really nice size ones from June to early August. I did have to pay the price, hiking up into some muddy inlets and coves that branch off the inlets. Looking forward to a productive 2018. I've been up here for fours years. Still miss my spots down in New Smyrna Beach.

Way to go, congrats on finding the crabs. Good luck with the Jags tomorrow, hope they also catch the Pats with their defense. LOL

Thanks for the report! I wish you great luck for 2018 too. I have been looking for some different crabbing areas too but away from New Smyrna where hopefully the crabs are a bit bigger!
