Yeah but when they swim up in Maryland's brackish water they grow big. 7-9 inches. That's when they're worth eating.They catch them that big every now and then in Virginia.

Where are some spots to catch crabs out here on a day like today ? Me and my fiancé are new to the state and we are oyster picking this afternoon .. we would love to find a few good crabs today as well .. any recommendations ?? Please and thank you a bunch

Hi Jack....I'm Lukes fishing/crabbing buddy. My understanding is that the VA 3/17 season opening only pertains to crab pots & not to hand crab traps(Foxy, etc) with no closed season on them??

The water temp is 43 at Kiptopeake and 46 on the seaside at Wachapreague. A tad cool for troutlining I'd say.
