I checked out three spots yesterday to get some more crabs. It appears the big ones have moved out of these areas!
I used five of the metal ring traps and tried two areas for about an hour in each spot. I saw one crab leave the trap when I pulled it and that was it! I came home empty. So it goes. I'll try again around mid or late June to see if the little ones have grown up.

Thx for the report. I tried south of you in Melbourne with 20 topless traps. Did 3 runs for 3 crabs.  So there’s not much going on here either
