If he paid $40k and selling for $37k, he calculates depreciation on the boat at $17.64 per hour of use. 

I'd start with $100 per hour of use and offer $23k, except that I wouldn't even pay that for a CS. 

And personally, I love my CS, but not THAT much.

I haven't bought a new boat in a long time and I know prices aren't cheap but OUCH!!!!!!  I sure wouldn't pay that much for a new skiff let alone a used skiff
