Hey all
Just drove by chrisí Marina to see how it looks for launching. The dock looks good but the deli and launch building are a ghost town! Are they still in business? This river is a favorite of mine to crab and a real easy launch. Any info? If they arenít there any other launches that are easy in the area?
Thanks!

Just answered my own question.  Guess I havenít been there in a while. They closed back in 2015. Looks like the Monmouth county park commission bought it and turning it into swimming river park. Awesome!

I heard the county took it over.  Didn't hear the swimming stuff.

That is wild.  They hyped the [Sam Hill] out of coli in that water for the past 3 years or more and want people to swim there?  WOW!  That back river there runs from the GSP.  Did an exploratory there years back.  It's almost like an urban river back that way.  Reminds me of Rahway River park where I grew up in Union County.  Lets just say a bit murky.  LOL

Be VERY careful.  I careless rode up the stream running about 10 knots.   Hit a submerged something ( likely a tree) with the outboard.  And the O/B cowl came off and was lost in the dirty water.

So go slow.  Motor trimmed way up if I were you.

Did you know that O/B cowls are sold with no decals?  You have to buy them.

The name of the river is Swimming River just upstream of the park.
There is no swimming at the park

The County offers a yearly launch pass for 50 dollars.
