Hey guys Ive judt started crabbing the last 3 seasons. I live in Bethel, but normally make the drive out to old lyme/old saybrook to crab. Im looking for locations that are a little closer. Ive tried spots similar to my spots but in the norwalk and saugatuck rivers but havent had luck at all. Im wondering if there might be some different type of habitat I should try to find on the western side of the state.

Thabks in advance

You are probably looking in the correct areas in the Norwalk & Saugatuck areas!
It's probably that the crabs just haven't shown up yet!
The crab season in that area is a short season! And then when they finally do arrive the first cold winds of October and they are gone again!

Do a search for my posts from that area in years past. That will show you when they showed up for the last 15 years.
Do separate searches for South Norwalk and Westport.
