Oak Hill 7-4-18

Went to Riverbreeze park in Oak Hill yesterday morning.  I got my 5 ring nets in the water about 6am, using chicken legs for bait.  It was very slow for about the first 30 mins, then I started to see some action pulling in 12 good size keepers in an hour.  It then slowed down to where I was not pulling anything.  I decided to head to nearby Goodrich's pier at around 9am.  The action here was very quiet (besides the gator that wouldn't leave me alone) only pulling in 2 medium size males.  Ended the day around 10:00 with 14 crabs.  Most in the 5 range my largest being 6.5.  This was a success in my opinion after the last few outings I have had.  It looks like things are slowly getting better!

Congratulations! The first good news regarding crabbing I have heard in a long time!
I was at Riverbreeze on 7-1-2018. There was a young family crabbing there but were only catching 2" crabs! There was no one at Goodriches for the last three Sundays.
There was a woman crabbing off the rebuilt south fishing dock at the north causeway in NSB yesterday. She was using three ring traps with chicken. She explained she had been there one hour and had one crab.

Yeah I was catching a lot of small crabs close to the pier.  All of the keepers I caught, I had to throw the net out away from the dock.  In regards to the North Causeway dock, there have yet to be any good reports come out of that spot.  I think I may stay away from there for a while.

Looking good time to start cracking.  Love NSB, Edgewater, Oak Hill,  Mom & Pop lived beachside NSB till passing.  I still go down 2 /3 times a year Sister lives on Bochelle.  Nice to read about what's happening down there from Philly area.  Good luck.
