Went out to same spot with my new crabbing partners and invited a friend and his wife, who are both Filipino.  Three things Filipinos love: the PAC-Man, basketball, and crabs.  When visiting there 10’years ago I was treated to a real Filipino crab feast - it was giant mud crab and they had some kind of vinegar sauce for dipping.  Anyway he brought some home brew down and was interested to see what my crabbing scene was all about!

We caught 75 crabs - 15 or so were 7”, 30 6”, and 30 5-6”.  We all thought we had about 50 and were shocked when filling my streamer pot it maxed out at 51 crabs and so my friend took a cooler of 24 live crabs home!

I steamed them over a mix of beer, vinegar, water, old Bay, and lemon.  We ate crab for 2 1/2 hours and they said it was the best crab they ever had.

Thanks for sharing

At the end of the day, it's not about how many fish or crabs you put in the cooler but about how many memories you put in your life and the lives of your "mates".

When do you add the lemon?

I usually put lemons in the mix to be steamed:

Vinegar, old bay, beer, lemon
