How many  bushels of #1 is good day of crabbing for you? I'm sure you like get 8 to 10 bushels every time but what would be your satisfied number for day of crabbing.

Paying a deckhand, bait, fuel, oil, my truck fuel, and running crabs to market..... any day under 6 baskets ain't worth it.  That's just me.  Some guys need more or less depending on how big of a boat they run, fuel burn, how many deckhands they use, where they are located,.... etc.  Have a great day!

If we're talking trotlining...3-5 makes it worth it for sure. Avg trip cost is about $50-60 depending on where I'm crabbing, so like Ray said it depends on price. It could take a bushel to recoup that or a doz 7+" dirty dogs. Sometimes I'd rather scratch for a basket of monsters rather than fill 3 baskets of trash.

Very true especially when you can get away from the masses doing it.
