Crabbing with a light being illegal is an old wife's tale dating back into the 1960's when I first heard it. And probably before that.   Because its supposed to be soooo easy.   So is having too many traps ( NOT Comm pots) at once being supposedly limited.  There is none.

Does  anyone know if it is legal to crab at night,  using a scoop net and a flashlight in New Jersey ?
