One more thing, how about turkey necks? Same thing or do they get too sleepy like I do on Thanksgiving?

Crabs seem to like chicken, and I've found over the years, necks and backs give you the best bang for the buck among chicken parts for bait.

When we go out for a day I usually spend $10-20 on a couple packs of thighs. Not anymore! This yr is the yr of the neck!

Of course, if you run 1200' of trotline and 30 traps, the necks tend to go fast...

I prefer bunker, when I go grabbing. I have been pulling in a few keeper crabs in around Turkey Point. (with metal nets) Haven't had a chance to throw the commercial traps out yet, the bay water is to cold to get my feet wet.

Bunker is good just a little messy on those 10hr, 100 deg, no wind, lots of greenhead days at DC.

I will probably split my time evenly this year between jersey and MD. I can only take so many bug bites before I convert full time to MD.
