10 Ring traps baited with chicken necks, 1 bigger trap I let soak for the 3 hours I was there baited with chicken backs.  I arrived at 7:00am and left at 10:00am.  I left there catching 8 males ranging 5.0-6.0 and One female a bit over 5.5 (in the ring traps).  Pulled my bigger trap before leaving and had one male and female both around 5.5.  Left with a dozen crabs after 3 hours.

There were times, years ago where a dozen crabs  in three hours would happen quite often. Way to go, a dozen crabs makes a good meal.

Hopefully there will be more as the season progresses.

I tried again across the Lagoon from Goodriches by JB's restaurant. Two hours two crabs! 5.75 and 6 inches.
7am to 9am; no crabs caught after 8am. 5 ring traps with leftover chicken drums from Goodriches visit.
I saw that a fisherman on north Merrit Island hasn't seen any crabs this year!

Shellfish...I have taken my Kayak out in that lagoon a handful of times and have not had much luck.  I hope we are in for a better year than last year.
