Crabbed at the Mulberry Landing seawall on the incoming tide this afternoon and ended up with 10 keepers and then was gifted an additional 3 for a total of 13. This is pretty standard for this time of year using rings and handlines from the seawall (in my experience). What was not so standard was the amount of green eels I encountered--there seems to be a major population boom this year. I've been crabbing this spot for 7-8 years now and I've only started seeing eels in my crab rings in the past couple of years, but today it was ridiculous, like every other ring had a feasting eel in it. (I primarily use chicken legs for bait.) Even my square "book" traps caught eels.

Anybody know what's the deal with all these eels? Lol

I grew up on that bay, the eels are a good sign of the health of the water.  Dredging the canal has allowed the bay to flush better.

Assawoman Bay. I want to know who in the [Sam Hill] it was that came up with that name for a bay. And how the liberals aren't in a complete uproar to have it changed, since they probably feel it offends  large [arse] women. It probably wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't also a Little Assawoman Bay, causing this one to be the Big Assawoman Bay. I hope Trump never sails his yacht there, he will never hear the end of it.

Ok, that's good to hear then. I just wish they were less hungry for chicken as that's my preferred bait.

Stop it. Have a sense of humor already. Seems to be a lacking quality around here lately. Everybody has to be so "serious" all the time. Lighten up a little and have some fun.

Having a sense of humor and being offensive for the sheer fun of trolling people online aren't the same thing. You stop. I don't know you and you don't know me, but since this is my thread, I don't welcome your comments here. Have anything to say about what I asked about originally? That's great, and I and others would certainly appreciate any wisdom your years of fishing and crabbing have to impart upon us all. Just keep your obnoxious and deliberately offensive political diatribe out of my thread.
